About Us

Community is the thread that binds us all together.

OUR STORY

Larne Area Community Support Group is a group set up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to offer support and guidance to the local community through this difficult period. Founder Lynsey Poole sensed a need for a social hub so that the local community could connect and support one another in the uncertainty of the pandemic.

We now have over 7,000 members within our Facebook group, and have been met with a great deal of positivity. We provide somewhere to seek support, to ask questions, to get the latest accurate information, up to date delivery and services information within the local area and to spread kindness!

We are a voluntary community group, comprising of 15 volunteers who are giving up our own free time to support the wider community and provide a central hub for residents, businesses and organisations in the Larne area. A space to provide local information and sharing support, resources and positivity. We have several projects, Larne Community Fridge and IncrEDIBLE Garden, Larne Community Orchard, Visit Larne and are involved in a large capacity in many projects collaboratively across Larne and the wider area.

Larne Area Community Support Group is a constituted community group which is entirely non-profit and volunteer led. Our aims are simple, to bring our local community together, to identify projects that are needed within the local area and work alongside others to implement them; to increase positive attitudes towards Larne and create community cohesion by collaborating with local individuals, charities, groups and council.
